Concrete Reconstruction

Our team specializes in mender repair for concrete floors in the Milwaukee area. We can easily fix cracks, pits, and spalls with our efficient technique. For cracks, we use a diamond grinder to open up and abrade both edges, ensuring better adhesion of our mender material. Once mixed, we overfill the crack, allow it to cure for about 7-10 minutes before grinding it flush with the surface. Pits and spalling undergo a similar process. We prep the area by removing weak concrete using a shot blaster before overfilling with mender material. Depending on the severity, we repeat the process if needed. After curing, we check the surface to ensure evenness and refill any uneven areas. Control joints are left open, but can be filled if specified. To end, we vacuum and blow any debris off the floor. Count on us for an excellent mender repair job that leaves your concrete floors smooth and level.

Basecoat

We typically use a polyurea full chip coating system for garage floors, starting with coating all vertical surfaces before applying to the floor. This includes curbing, stairs (concrete or wood), and vertical concrete/block walls. To begin, we use our 100% solids self-priming pure polyurea base coat to cut in all edges around the floor. Once edges are finished, we mix one gallon of base coat at a time and spread it out at a rate of around 175 sq. ft. This is done by pouring the mixed coating onto the floor in a line, then using a roller/squeegee to spread it evenly to the desired thickness. We continue the process of mixing and rolling until the entire surface is covered.

Broadcasting the Chip

We complete the floor coating process and then mix our flake in a large tub, ensuring that the colors are evenly blended. Next, we cover the entire floor by hand with the flake, ensuring that the floor is uniform in both color and texture. We use large quantities of flakes to guarantee complete coverage.

Scraping the chip

To prepare our floors properly, we need to scrape off any loose or vertically standing flakes once the basecoat is fully cured. To do this, we use metal blade scrapers and apply pressure to cut and scrape the flakes. We go over the floor in both horizontal and vertical directions to make sure we get every angle and create an even texture. Additionally, we hand-scrape any loose flakes on vertical surfaces. We finish by thoroughly vacuuming the floors to collect any remaining loose chips.

Clear Coat

After the basecoat has fully cured, we scrape down the flake using metal blade scrapers. We walk along the floor surface with the blade, exerting pressure to cut or scrape any loose or vertically standing flakes. Typically, we scrape the floor from front to back and side-to-side to ensure comprehensive coverage. This process ensures a uniform texture on your floor. We also hand scrape vertical surfaces to remove loose flakes. Any remaining loose chip is vacuumed up from the floor.
